How to disable VT-X

Post by emulator »

I'm trying to test Microsoft Hyper-V within a VirtualBox guest. Hyper-V requires VT-X hardware acceleration in order to install. In the past, I've seen that if VT-X is disabled on the guest, then VT-X transfers over to the guest (this has been a long time ago). So I'm trying this now to see if it works. The problem is that VT-X acceleration cannot be disabled on my guest OS. I uncheck it, and it re-enables itself the next time I check.

I have tried editing the XML files to no avail.

Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You did not see that with VirtualBox. That's not how it works and it never worked that way. If something requires VT-x or AMD-V, you won't be able to install it in VirtualBox.
