Windows 2008 R2 Guest BlueScreen

Post by PRab »

Hi,

I am experiencing a repeating BSoD inside a Virtualbox VM. Unfortunately, I have not been able to pin it down to a specific set of actions that cause the BSoD. My host is Windows 7 Enterprise (64 bit) with 8 gigs of RAM and the guest is Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise (64 bit). I have tried several steps to resolve it including removing/re-adding the guest additions, installing Windows updates (both host and guest), changing network configuration inside the guest, disabling Nested Paging, in the guest running "SFC /SCANNOW", etc.

I have attached the logs from Virtualbox, the logs from the VM, and the DMP files created in the guest. I have more of each if needed.

Any suggestions on how to diagnose these BSoD's or fix them?

Thanks,
PRab

You should try to update to 4.1.18 which should have a fix for this issue.
If this continues to happen log into the ticket below and add your information.

It appeared to be working for a while, but I have been getting crashes/bluescreens again. I didn't see the same log message as before, but the symptoms seem the same.

I don't see anything in the log that would indicate your problem. Meaning it must be the guest that is BSODing. You need to capture the BSOD information, a mini-dump, a log file after the next BSOD, and post that to bugtracker

The only errors I see are USB and the fact that you have not installed the Extension Pack How to install Extension Pack If this does not help you need to post at bugtracker as they are the only ones that can run this down.
