error VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80BB0005)

Hello Dear

I installed Virtual box 4.1.8-75467 on my windows 7 and then tried to create new virtual machine, but when i want to do settings :

settings --> storage --> empty --> when i browse my DVD image I encountered with an error :

Could not get the storage format of the medium 'D:\software\CentOS-5.7-i386-bin-DVD-1of2.iso' (VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED).
Result Code: VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80BB0005)
Component: Medium
Interface: IMedium {53f9cc0c-e0fd-40a5-a404-a7a5272082cd}

how can I solve this problem?

I suspect the clue is in the file name "D:\software\CentOS-5.7-i386-bin-DVD-1of2.iso". I suspect you have part 1 of a split DVD image. VirtualBox can't use half a DVD image.

I renamed it but I still have that error. How can I solve the problem?

Renamed it? The clue was in the name as I said, but the problem was that you only have half the file. You either need to download an unsplit version of the file (may be tricky, a quick search shows they are all split), or get hold of both halves and use a join tool to make one file again (I can't recommend one because I don't use file splitters, but free ones seem to be easily available for a Win7 host if you search, e.g. here).

Hi

Thank you very much for your guidance. Fortunately I used Daemon software to open DVD image, and after that virtual box could open Centos. Now the problem is compeletly solved :) .
