Problem creating Fixed-Size image

Post by salmanjamali »

Everytime I try to create a .vdi of 2 GB or more for windows XP, VB tells me that the disk is full. I planned to allocate around 8 GB, but it aint even working for 2 GB.

Now I allocated 24 GB for Solaris partition and I have no other stuff or softwares installed. Also, I read somewhere that the file size limit isn't a problem.

My questions:
1 - So, what can be the problem?
2 - I usually place all my files on Desktop, what is alternatively the best place to keep such large files?

I'll appreciate any pointers, thanks.

Are you creating your VDIs on a FAT filesystem ?

Otherwise, what free size is reported for your home directory filesystem ?
