Failed to open a session for the virtual machine

Hi,

I getting this massege wen i try to start xp session:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine XP Work.

VD: error VERR_IO_CRC opening image file 'C:\Users\Hanan Assedo\VirtualBox VMs\XP Work\XP Work.vdi' (VERR_IO_CRC).

Failed to open image 'C:\Users\Hanan Assedo\VirtualBox VMs\XP Work\XP Work.vdi' in read-write mode rc=VERR_IO_CRC (VERR_IO_CRC).

Failed to attach driver below us! Device i/o: CRC error. (VERR_IO_CRC).

PIIX3 cannot attach drive to the Primary Master (VERR_IO_CRC).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)

How can i fix it?

A CRC error means corruption of the VDI. Since I doubt very much that VirtualBox itself does a CRC check (there is no CRC field in a VDI header that I recall) then I assume this is actually a serious disk sector error being passed back by the I/O subsystem of your host. You urgently need to run chkdsk on that host drive - and if the VDI is corrupted then only a backup will fix it.
