Could not find a registered CD/DVD image with UUID...problem

Post by samopal »

hi,
after using 1.4.0 on kubuntu feisty 64-bit for a longer time, i'm now facing this problem>
Image
both xp and vista guest are inaccessible and their buttons are greyed out, because of similar errors stated on screenshot. I've installed guests from cd/dvd images and since then, i moved the cd/dvd instalation images to another location with no problem. where can I begin to search for problem? i've got a few nice snapshots of these OS's, and I can't afford to lose them...

Hi,

you could try to modify guest settings in configuration file (under ~/.virtualbox) and replace path to the right one.

Hope this help.

One shouldn't modify the XML files (and if you have to, then it's a VBox bug).

Go to the Virtual Disk Manager and release + remove the DVD item.
