I am running BOINC with VirtualBoxVB version 4.1.0 on an iMaC.
When BOINC starts a new job VirtualBoxVM pops and and grabs the focus from other apps. Is there anyway to stop this?

Re: BOINC
Hi John,
I am running Test4Theory on BOINC which also needs VirtualBoxVM, although the other projects I run don't. So when BOINC swaps jobs to Test4Theory VirtiualBoxVM starts up and grabs the focus.

Re: BOINC
Gerry,
Just so I understand, you're saying that you have the VirtualBoxVM window minimised on the Mac and when a Test4Theory task starts, the VirtualBoxVM window pops up and is in focus?
If so, that does not happen to me.
btw - I'm running Lion v10.7.1

Re: BOINC
John,
Yes. BOINC swaps tasks hourly. When it restarts Task4Theory the VirtualBoxVM Console Window pops up.
I am also on Lion so the difference must be in some of the VirtualBoxVM settings.
As I write I have a message saying a new version of VirtualBoxVM is available - am just downloading it and will see if this behaviour continues.

Re: BOINC
No, only BOINC. (I think it has installed a version of Linux on VirtualBoxVM but I haven't investigated.) I do have parallels with WinXP but the pops up occur when I am not using Parallels.
Do you think it might help to delete both BOINC and VirtualBoxVM and then reinstall?

Re: BOINC
As long as you're comfortable doing that and that you won't lose any 'special' settings that you forgot you had (speaking from experience here ), then give it a shot.gerrynuk wrote:Do you think it might help to delete both BOINC and VirtualBoxVM and then reinstall?
