I am running windows 7 enterprise on my host. Virtual box is opening fine, but I can not get any guest to open up. I get the following error:
Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
ProgressProxy
Interface:
IProgress {c20238e4-3221-4d3f-8891-81ce92d9f913}
I have tried the typical remedies...restart computer, run as admin, reinstall the program....all to no avail. Any help would be great.

Re: E_FAIL w/out specific error code
Is this an upgrade? I assume that you mean you can not start any guests.

Re: E_FAIL w/out specific error code
Can you explain how you are installing the guests in VirtualBox?

Using the wizard...new > name AdamsM - Win 7 PRO x64, auto select to Windows 7 x64 > Memory set to 4096 MB > Create New Hard Disk > VDI > Dynamically allocated > Disk size 40 GB > then create.

Re: E_FAIL w/out specific error code
During the next steps of the Wizard did you tell VirtualBox where to find the install media?
VirtualBox only supplies the ability to run various operating systems. You must provide the install media.

I did, I am using an iso. It was working yesterday but I am not sure what the issue is today. Could this be a permission issue that has changed at the local machine implemented by the admin? That was my first thought, but I assumed i would get some type of error code. The lack of a code is what is really confusing me.

Hummm,
Perhaps you should tell me everything you know for sure. At this pace of me asking questions and waiting for answers to be able to ask more question.... You see the delay.
It is really late here and it may be tomorrow before I can reply so take your time and post everything and anything that you have done and what you think may be an obstacle for you in getting this to work.
