.NET 2.0 does not work properly (Sudocue)

I installed Windows XP (Media Center edition) in VirtualBox under Fedora 8 (64-bit). Works well, except for .NET 2.0 applications (well, at least one).

I am trying to use Sudocue (www.sudocue.net/download.php). The application runs but does not do what it is supposed to do (it is a sudoku solver/helper).

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Could someone confirm that Sudocue does not work in VirtualBox (or VMware) so I know it isn't just my setup?

Could anyone name a (free) .NET application that does work in a virtual machine that I can try?

Mathcad 13 is not running either ... alas
