Sound is messed up in windows XP

Post by eruthven »

I have XP installed and working great(only using it for MAcromedia Flash Suite), got USB working and everything, but the sound is very delayed and drawn out, and sounds really messed up. I need to get the sound to work for guitar recording software. Anyone else had similar problem and know how to fix?

thanks

I'm also having choppy/jerky/underwater sound in XP guest (on a Gentoo host). My sound works flawlessly in Gentoo itself, and can play from multiple apps at once and all that. Anything in XP guest just sounds like it's coming from a submarine and filtered through poprocks.

I have tried both ALSA and OSS (which is emulated by ALSA on my host) in the machine config. I'm on a core 2 quad with 4 gigs of ram. Sound is on the mobo (intel Q33).

Any idea why my sound is getting borked?

Actually I found the problem was the XP image I was using. I had installed some audio codecs that for some reason garbled the rest of my sound. Sorry for the false alarm.
