Wine IE 6 performance on Ubuntu

I have been testing Parallels and VirtualBox running Ubuntu 7.04. Parallels is a tad faster, but not a big deal. However, I loaded IEs4Linux which uses WINE and it feels decent on Parallels but crawls on VirtualBox. This is on a Quad core Xeon Mac Pro.

Is there anything that can be done to speed this performance up?

Happens to me too. Wine is unbearably slow with osx as host and ubuntu 7.10 as guest.
