Hello,
I run Gentoo Linux with Xorg 1.3.0, KDE 3.5.7, and VirtualBox 1.5.2_OSE. Every time I use VirtualBox I have to go into the KDE Control Center and disable and re-enable my power saving settings to get my screen to turn off. Does anyone know what causes this and how I can resolve the issue?
Thank You,
Conor
DPMS settings not working after running VirtualBox
Re: DPMS settings not working after running VirtualBox
you can take a look at my post at the ubuntu forums:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=657290
basically, i have the same thing happening to me on virtualbox and also on mythtv. if i manually reset the dpms at the terminal (xset dpms 300 300 300) or in the kde control panel it works again.
somehow dpms is not getting re-enabled. i don't know where to find out what command is sent from virtualbox to re-enabled dpms though, but whatever command it is it isn't working (xset -q shows the status of dpms, and it remains disabled after closing these programs)
