how can I alt+tab between programs in the guest OS when in seamless mode?

Use alt-tab in the host to activate the guest VM.
Press the host key.
Use alt-tab to switch tasks in the guest.

If you want to switch tasks in the host again, press the host key, and the use alt-tab.

that doesn't work for me in seamless mode.

My host is ubuntu linux with Gnome desktop. Holding the default host CTRL key with ALT TAB just gives me options for gnome top and bottom panels.

But thanks to your post, I was inspired to try holding the right-ALT while cycling with ALT+TAB and that works for seamless mode.

You should press and release the host key to toggle keyboard capture. Sorry if that wasn't clear from my message.

1. Use alt-tab in the host to activate the guest VM.
2. Press (and release) the host key.
3. Use alt-tab to switch tasks in the guest.

I changed my host key to ScrollLock to reduce conflicting key-combinations. It would be nice to have the ability of multi-key host key configuration (like VMware's left ctrl-alt)).
