kmod for VirtualBox 4

Post by skorzen »

Hello guys and girls,

Do you know if there is any repository out there that provides me the 'kmod' package for VirtualBox 4?
I'm asking this because if I do a kernel upgrade, then there is no package to handle this change, so VirtualBox will unable me to start any virtual machine.

More information about the system:

As you can see I'm using Fedora 14 x64, using the following repository:

Code: Select all

[skorzen@g62 ~]$ cat /etc/yum.repos.d/virtualbox.repo

Oh! And a result of a query on my repositories:

What you need is to install dkms so when the kernel gets updated it updates the headers and also the external modules.

I know, but can 'dkms' handle the changes in the kernel and pass those changes to VirtualBox version 4?

This is the version I'm using:

Code: Select all

[skorzen@g62 ~]$ su -c 'yum install dkms'
Password:
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
Setting up Install Process
Package dkms-2.1.0.1-1.fc12.noarch already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
