Multiple VMs with NAT

Post by mn_kthompson »

Hey I've got some weirdness going on. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this.

I'm try to run multiple VMs at once. I have a Windows XP machine and a Vista machines both with the guest additions installed. Networking is in NAT mode for both VMs.

According to the manual, one of them should get a 10.0.2.x address, and the other should get a 10.0.3.x address. However, what really happens is that both of them get the address 10.0.2.15. I have successful networking in both of the VMs, but not at the same time. Usually, only one of them can connect to the Internet.

Any thoughts?

Same Issue even in 1.5.6

The documentation has a LOT to be desired from what I've seen and experienced. I have two VM's running with XP SP 2 as well and they both get 10.0.2.x even though one is assigned NIC 0 and the other 1 or 2.

I ended up making my second a static IP of 10.0.2.16

If there are other solutions I would love to hear them.
