virtualbox segfault when try edit VM properties

I have upgrade virtualbox from 3.2 to 4.0 on Kubuntu 10.10 AMD 64

All old VMs work OK, but I cant edit VM properties

If I run virtualbox from console:

I create new VM and also cant edit properties

In rare cases it is possible to edit without crashing.
Not foreseeable.
Don't know how to debug.

Same here - Fedora 14 x86_64, kernel 2.6.35.10-72, QT 4.7. I am able to edit the settings on only one of my VMs - if I try to edit the settings on any others, the interface just crashes with a segfault

An error i reported in the Betaphase.

I think over the links in the right settings display the dialog opens.

Its not a package problem from the distro.

Today i compiled the newest ose from source. Same Behaviour.

I checked it on Gnome Desktop. There its working some times.

I can confirm on openSUSE 11.3 x86_64, KDE 4.6, VirtualBox-4.0-4.0.0_69151_openSUSE113-1.x86_64

I just get a plain Segmentation Fault (no ibus or other errors) when I try to edit the properties of an installed VM.

I can confirm this on openSUSE 11.3 with KDE 4.5.4 and kernel 2.6.34.7-0.5-desktop - Reverting back to 3.2.12 for now until this is fixed

yes, i forgot to add that i run a KDE 4.5.3 desktop.
Could you please explain the meaning: "links in the right settings"

In the VirtualBox GUI on the right side (rechts ) there are the guest settings for the marked guest.

Every section has now a link that call the settings dialog with the tab from the link.

I, too, am having this problem. I right click on the VM and select "Settings" and VB 4.0.0 disappears ... Thanks to whoever posted the tip on the links to the right. That saved the day for me ... I need usb support for iTunes.

Any Idea when it will be released? I know other projects will release a revision release almost straight away (with just that patch) if a major flaw like that has been detected.
