I am planning on using my SL Server guest for email services and web services. Will it be too much if I also use the VM for calendar services and client administration ( pushing updates to client machines) as well?
I have a 200GB guest I created on my Mini Server that is RAID 1 and 500GB. I have allocated 2GB of memory to the guest. The host has 8GB of memory.
Thanks.

I don't think that will be too much of a problem, but the memory can be higher for the VM. Check the current resource usage and adjust the memory allocation if needed. Going from 2 to 4 GB should improve things and prevent the Guest from running out of resources.

Wow, 4GB? I guess I underestimated a bit. 4GB should be fine since I have 8GB on my host. Plus the SL VM will be my main VM.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Work Load of SL Server Guest
I have no idea what resources such tasks require, but I know that on Windows, if you want to install Exchange (for mail and calendar features), it already requests 4 GB these days. An update service shouldn't require that much. That's why I said to check the current memory load first. It might be enough what you have set now.
