Hi,
Autodesk Inventor 2008 runs just fine and pretty smoothly on a virtualized XP SP3 using VB 3.2.8 with 1.5GB RAM and 128MB VRAM allocated.
Unfortunately the newer 2010 completely misbehaves. It still uses DirectX 9 and starts, but is terribly slow and almost instantly crashes when opening a 3D object. Is there a way to get this sorted out? What can I provide?
Autodesk Inventor 2008 (good) vs. 2010 (bad)

I'm happy to report that AutoDesk Inventor 2010 now runs quite well with Virtualbox 3.2.12
Initially it complains about missing Direct3D 9, but switching to 'software graphics' or OpenGL resolves it. I didn't install the VB Direct3D driver btw.
