VBoxVmsService - A call for features

Hi everybody! As I pointed out earlier here http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. ... 74#p157374, I decided to take a call for features regarding VBoxVmService. In order not to croud up the existing threads, I strongly encourage everyone with an idea to reply to this thread on the issue.

Please note: Any suggestions made elsewhere will not be considered.

So step forward and take your best shot! ;-)

I'll start the ball rolling.

Like my suggestions in the VBoxVmService forum, the following are my suggestions. Instead of going into "Cmd" or DOS mode to:

1) Check whether which VM is running and which ones are not, a simple GUI or Icon(s) on the host indicating the statuses would be quite helpful.
2) Added to the above, the GUI/Icons should be able to start, stop and restart VMs from there. The log file will then be used for debugging purposes.
3) Is there a possibility to do a "shutdown" of the VMs instead of savestate or poweroff or is the poweroff function the same as shutdown?

I notice that my VMs do not show as running when using the following at the cmd prompt.

VBoxManage list runningvms

The VM's are running and functioning fine but their status is not reflected in the GUI (VirtualBox.exe).
It would be nice to have this ability if possible.

Thanks and good work.

hi mattz/FB2000,

Will you be releasing an update for the Red Dragon as stated? Quite anxious to see what new features you have added to this application
