Enabling network card in windows xp guest fails

Post by grendo »

Hi,
I have virtual box 1.5 running on ubuntu 7.10 64 bit. I have migrated a existing vmware image with windows xp installed. All is running well except the networking. When I look under network adapters in device manager I see a network adapter called VMWare Accelerated AMD PCNet Adapter. If I try to enable this network card I get a Device can not start error.

Is there a network adapter I have to install on the windows xp guest to work with virtualbox ?

Thanks for any help.

got it working, had to go into device manager in 3windows and select the network adapter, then manually choose the device driver. then choose driver from the virtualbox guest additions cd.
