VirtualBox 3.2 and Windows 7 32-bit guest install problems
Having issues installing Windows 7 32-bit guests on Lucid Lynx 64-bit system (8-core dual opteron). Currently have functioning Windows XP, Windows 7 64-bit guests.
No matter what combination of guest parameters/settings I try I end up with these errors when I install:
Jason Perlow
ZDNet
blogs.zdnet.com/perlow
jperlow@gmail.com
I'm working on a VMWare 7.1 vs. VirtualBox review, I'd REALLY like to get this resolved before I go to print.
This appears to happen during the "Expanding Files" stage. I've checked the ISO, installs on VMWare fine. It aint the virtual media.

I can confirm the same problem, when installing windows 7 ultimate (guest) through virtualbox 3.2.0 on Ubuntu 10.04 as host. I consider it also as a critical issue, needing to be solved as soon as possible. Please inform me someone when solved.

Hi,
After try to reinstall my VM, I have changed the default Chipset for the hard disk. I used ICH6, and i haven't been any problem to install my Windows Seven, I don't if it work for all, but you can try

Re: VirtualBox 3.2 and Windows 7 32-bit guest install problems
This problem is still occurring with 3.2.2, 64-bit.
Re: VirtualBox 3.2 and Windows 7 32-bit guest install problems
Jason, can you try to select "Enable Host IO Cache" next to the virtual disk controller? So far we have been unable to reproduce this error. Thanks!
Re: VirtualBox 3.2 and Windows 7 32-bit guest install problems
And please open a ticket in the public bug tracker http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Bugtracker.
Re: VirtualBox 3.2 and Windows 7 32-bit guest install problems
We identified a bug which can cause data corruption. It happens with VDI images only and only if the image is growing. Because we are still unable to reproduce the issue it would be great if you would try the testbuild below. Thanks for your help!
