Good evening all.
I have installed Virtualbox version 3.2.0 on my Windows XP computer. I have created a virtual machine to host Solaris 10 (SOL_10_1009_X86). The DVD is basically a bootable disk, not an ISO image. When I boot the VM, a console window appears, displaying "Loading Stage 2...." for a few seconds, then it displays the grub prompt on the command line:
grub> _
How do I install Solaris from the grub prompt?
Thanks in advance,
Bjoern

Moved to Solaris guest

The Solaris install dvd isn't supposed to stop at the grub> prompt.BRH wrote:When I boot the VM, a console window appears, displaying "Loading Stage 2...." for a few seconds, then it displays the grub prompt on the command line:

It should present the grub boot menu.
In cases the install media does stop at the grub> prompt,
the root cause is almost always errors when reading from
the installation media. This could be caused by a bad
(truncated or corrupted) download, bad burn of the
downloaded file to optical media, optical drive unable to
read the media, ...
In case you downloaded the Solaris installation dvd from the
net, I'd compute the MD5 checksum for the downloaded
file and double check that the checksum matches the checksum
published on the download site.
