OS X+MAMP localhost in XP and IE8?

Hello,

I'm trying to get Iternet Explorer 8 in Win XP in VirtualBox to connect to my local MAMP server in OS X but i can't seem to get it right.
I found something about "Terminal and ifconfig" and found that i could put 192.168.58.115:8888 in IE to load my local MAMP, but it only loaded the root file structure and not my Joomla site which is the main reason i need this... so i can test CSS to make things look ok in IE.

Has anyone a solution or tip on this?

I figured it out, i just had to edit my Joomla configuration.php from using live site url localhost to my ip instead.
