BSOD in windows xp sp3 on windows xp sp3 - Minidump Inside

Post by NorysLintas »

Hi i use a windows xp s.p.3 virtualized with virtual box 3.1.4 installed on a intel q6600 4 Gb ram ddr2 windows xp s.p.3 based o.s., usually i use this virtualized os for test software application and surf the internet.
Sometimes when i use mozilla in my guest os or google chrome (both upgraded to the last version, with the last shockwave and flash plugin)my HOST gave me a BSOD trap cause unknown.
In past i used 3.1.2 version and i haven't got any BSOD, but i think that the upgrade to the 3.1.4 isn't the proper reason, probabily the error (with the 3.1.2 version of virtualbox) doesn't appear because i used mozilla and chrome browser too few times.

On event viewer i see this: Event 1001 error name : 0x10000012 (0x00000002, 0x8001003b, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Thanks in advance for any reply and sorry for my bad english ^^

Little update

I've tried the virtual machine, with and without these settings:
processor : extended features: Enable pae/nx
acceleration: Hardware virtualization : enable vt-x/amd-v; enable nested paging

These are the settings of virtual machine :
RAM : 1500 MB memory ram
CPU: 2 Cpu
VIDEO : 60 Mb of MB memory video
enable 3d acceleration ON
enable 2d video acceleration ON

Any suggestions or news about a probabily bug?

Any suggestions or news about a probabily bug?
sorry, i have no idea, but ...
RAM : 1500 MB memory ram
VIDEO : 60 Mb of MB memory video
give straight values like 1536MB or 64MB

Because the max value of the ram is 1500, i've changed the values into:

RAM: 1280 (1024 + 256)
Video : 64 MB

If someone can use the debugger, I've attached two minidump of my HOST , in these cases the error was the same: trap cause unknown.

I'll try the 3.1.6 version and i'll try to disable 2d and 3d acceleration.

I've did new test with virtual box 3.1.6 with the previous settings and 3d and 2d acceleration support disable.
I've got ever the same error...

Now the last things that i can do, are :
1)use mozilla firefox with shockwave and flash plugin disabled
2)try to surf with noscript plugin and adobe shockwave and flash off.

I've tried with the latest 3.2.6 virtual box, with EVERY previusly used setting, but the BSOD is COMING OUT SAMELY.
Mozilla or Chrome version are updated, flash plugin is last.

Please post this bug inside the bug tracker, i don't know how to do and please fix this bug.
