I have installed the guest extensions. I created a share. I created the directory. When I type:
sudo mount -t vboxfs test /test
I get the above error message.
Thenks for your help.

Wrong: sudo mount -t vboxfs test /test
Right: sudo mount -t vboxsf test /test
vboxfs is used only in Solaris AFAIK
