Screen resolution in XP as guest system on VirtualBox

Post by altella »

Hello all;

In am using VirtualBox OSE to virtualize Win XP Service Pack 3 using Ubuntu 9.10 as host OS in a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop (screen 15'' panoramic).
Everything goes fine and works well, but when I install "virtual-box-guest-additions" to be able to share folders, the video driver VgaSave in XP is automatically replaced with the video driver from VirtualBox. With this video driver, the maximum resolution available in the virtualized XP is 800 x 600, a really small resolution.

How can I fix the problem and get the virtualized XP to higher resolutions (panoramic or not)??. The resolution in Ubuntu is 1280 x 800.
The video driver I think it is an Intel 950.

Thank you all in advance

Switch to full screen after you've hit Hostkey+G to enable dynamic resolution change, it will then go to 1280 x 800.
