Because they felt like it?
Their software, their server, their decision.
Those versions went out of support a very long time ago. Perhaps you can find them on some "way back machine" type service.

Any specific reasons why you need previous versions (maybe except x86 as host)?

One possible reason to remove 3.y.x and earlier, shot from my hip instead of the developers':
3.y.x and earlier had the older style of guest file arrangement which left guest configuration data and guest drives in a difficult state to back up and move (see Moving a VM). The 4.0.x & later guest arrangement is tremendously better. The faster the 3.y.x arrangement disappears off the earth the better.
32-bit host PC support is available in 5.2.x and earlier, if I remember right.
