ok. i told about way how software must be published to fedora community.
if you take a look to http://virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads you can see instruction fro debian system and not for fedora distro.
almost no one who make software for fedora make it right, common mistake is privode rpm package without yum repo rpm. my liks is good examples how do it right.
livna must not pack any proprietary program and i do not mean that.

Integrating into repositories is always a good thing for programs, as it means that the package manager (yum, apt-get etc) will always pick up new versions and update where necessary rather than having to manually check for updates yourself (or get the app to do it for you).
Having said that, downloading and installing an RPM has just the same effect. You can actually uninstall VB using the Fedora package manager, so while repo integration would be nice concept, it's not really needed as yet. In addition to that, I believe the packages all need to be inspected and approved by the repo managers before they're added to the list.

Re: Fedora yum repo
The content of the first post is not quite clear but the idea of having a yum repository for virtualbox is a very good one and easy to be set up.

Re: Fedora yum repo
it would have to be a sun-hosted repository for the PUEL version, otherwise it would only be the OSE version if it was fedora-hosted.
