updating user id / password

I tried updating my user id / password multiple times over multiple days and could not log on to virtualbox.

The 2nd to last time I tried, it still did NOT work UNTIL I logged onto the Oracle website (I did NOTHING there except log on) then I was able to log on virtualbox.

I email Oracle { free} help and they said (basically) the id and password were updated correctly so the problem is my end.
