Let me think about this. It's something that we could add in our phpBB V3.0.6 upgrade which is coming soonish.
That would be nice, in fact it's a feature I suggested a long time ago. The problem with external links is that external links break - I've already seen discussions about where to find the intel SATA drivers and those VESA graphics drivers folks use on Win98 guests.

Well, my provider probably does give me a web page, but it's a feature I've ignored thus far and know nothing about. I did have a quick read of my providers support page yesterday but didn't find anything obviously relevant.

Don,
You already have a mechanism for your program and content. It's the VB Volunteers WiKi.
It has a 2M ceiling which should be more than adequate and you can setup sections in your own space to define and explain your program.

We are at the point to where it is usable so login there and give it a shot. PM me if you need help.

That is a very good idea! I'll check it out over the weekend. In the meantime I've changed the warning to bold red, so if there continues to be a growing difference in the download counts for the two source zips, well there isn't much else I can do.

I WANT THIS FEATURE DESPERATELY

Just like Microsoft Virtual PC there should drag and drop file copy support between the guest OS and host OS
Thank You
I hope you will consider my opinion.

You may want it, just like most other users, but that doesn't mean you can post with size 200. It's also off-topic in this topic, there are other drag'n'drop feature topics you can post in.

Wanting something is a different matter than getting it. I want two million euros, but I won't just get it from out of nowhere.

In download page there is a line:

where numbers of openSuSE versions should be links to

Code: Select all

http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/rpm/opensuse/<version>/virtualbox.repo
but all are

Code: Select all

http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/rpm/opensuse/10.3/virtualbox.repo
There are 10.3, 11.0 and 11.1 folders there. Check http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/rpm/opensuse/ and see for yourself. It's possible you were looking at it while they were still populating that location.
Hi Sasquatch

One thing I do not understand:

While the virtualbox 3.0.12 and 3.1.0 files for openSUSE 11.2 are there for both, i586 and x86_64 versions (in http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/3.1.0/ respectively in http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/3.0.12/)
However, there are no repo directories for openSUSE 11.2 ( http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualb ... albox.repo).

Also on the download page (http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads) there is a common link for openSUSE 11.1 and 11.2 pointing to the version openSUSE 11.1 version of virtualbox, despite an 11.2 version being available (as above).

Is there a possibility to setup an openSUSE 11.2 repository for virtualbox 3.0.12 and 3.1.0 (ff).
like http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualb ... albox.repo

Thanks in advance.

Greetings from Switzerland
Rolf

It's not an answer to you rgloor, but another issue.

Maybe it's time to change the status of FreeBSD in http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Guest_OSes
FreeBSD 6.2 is very old release. I have installed 8.0 and it works without any problems.

rgloor, I think you need to use the 11.1 repo for 11.2. I don't manage the repo's, so I have no idea what the devs' intentions are with this.

That really seams strange to me.

Because the opensuse 11.2 files are there. (For VBox 3.0.12 and the new 3.1.0.)

To everybody:

Does anybody know, whom to contact regarding the download / repo file and directory structure?

That would really be helpfull.

Thanks in advance.

Just an FYI

I use an early version of firefox on win98SE

With this setup I just thought I'd mention the tabs of the front page of the
user panel do not show up correctly. All other pages seem fine.

I can't say I'm a fan of phpBBS V3 as I decided to stick with V2 for my own systems
V3 seems overcomplex to no actual benefit to me.

Anyway this is just a hello and first impressions comment.

best wishes
Az.

This isn't a suggestion/request for the forum, but more so for the VB site. Any possibility that the guest addition iso's could be listed on the download page?

You should open a section for Solaris (not open solaris) questions/concerns/feedback.

We tend to group feedback by OS architecture. We don't have separated folders for all of the Windows versions or Linux versions, for example. I think that the same argument applies for Solaris and OpenSolaris.
