Internal TFTP server in NAT mode - keep it running

Post by racic »

Hi, I need to transfer some files to the machine in a minimalistic way after the installation and while the system has already booted.
Question:
Is there a way to keep the internal TFTP server running after the PXE boot has successfully completed?
I cannot access it, and it seems it stops working after the PXE boot phase. When in the installer (Debian), the TFTP server is not reachable by busybox built-in tftp client. The PXE boot, however, works fine and VirtualBox BIOS informs about successful connection, the files are downloaded and the installation proceeds.
I use Ubuntu 16.04 as a host and Debian 9 as guest, VirtualBox version 5.0.40_Ubuntu r115130. The TFTP files reside in ~/.config/VirtualBox/TFTP/
