I am that type, who first searchs in the internet, bevore asking in forums.
But for all my mess with Virtualbox in the last weeks, this never helped.
The questions in the forums though, are without answers ....
I am now posting this here in suggestions to suggest better docs
There are many different network types, which should be seen in relation to the
features of Virtualbox, for example, the interface types, available in linux:
Code: Select all
ip link help
.....
TYPE := { vlan | veth | vcan | dummy | ifb | macvlan | macvtap |
bridge | bond | ipoib | ip6tnl | ipip | sit | vxlan |
gre | gretap | ip6gre | ip6gretap | vti | nlmon }
Even after remove/reinstall/update Virtualbox on a debian machine, I cannot install
a guest with 64 bit - probably the reason is, that this is not supported on that available
cpu which is a "Intel D510" (codename Pineview) - this is a 64 bit cpu though ....
There is no reference list ! This is not only a question about the xx-bits, but there
are more cpu's which do not support virtualization extensions .... Principially,
on a 64 bit host, a 64 bit guest should be runnably.
Best regards,
Manfred
