You means the X.org replacements, yes?

Since x.org, wayland, mir are applications inside of Linux, i expect that VirtualBox already does.

Wayland is not supported by Guest extensions for 5.1.10. I found that out by upgrading my Fedora 24 VM to Fedora 25. One solution is to disable Wayland. Alternative is to uninstall guest additions from the VM, but then it becomes a pain to use.

Could you please provide more details of what is not working? For me a single monitor Fedora 25 virtual machine works find (except for seamless; I didn't test clipboard and drag and drop). With local fixes which are not yet in the repository a dual-screen (and presumably more) works too.
