[SOLVED] Windows 10 hangs/freezes on installation/reboot

Many of you guys seem to have this problem and it's indeed real - it's a bug in VirtualBox.

Currently there's no workaround, we have to wait until this bug receives the attention from developers and hopefully the next VritualBox build will resolve this issue.

When you see that your VM has frozen on reboot, simply press `Host_key + R` or via the menu -> Machine -> Reset (it's safe).

A little technical note: a bug is a feature that doesn't work as claimed. Not the absence of a feature you want. VirtualBox doesn't currently claim support for Windows 10 as either host or guest.

I agree with mpack. Something not implemented is not a "bug". Not to mention I've installed Windows 10 twice and didn't encounter the "bug".

I should also mention that you should always append VM logs to bug tickets, otherwise it will almost certainly be ignored. Let the devs decide if the log is interesting.

After hitting "reboot" and an actual reboot there's nothing in the logs, so there's nothing to show.

That can't be correct. Guest reboots don't reset what's in the what's in the log - which contains a whole lot of stuff before the boot is even attempted, and a good lot of stuff after the guest is shut down.

Minimum information needed for assistance.

You don't have to provide a log, but as I said earlier, your ticket will be ignored without one.
