Suggestion:
Move the status bar to the top and combine it with the menu bar.
Display real estate is like Gollum's ring. Precious. There is a lot of wasted space to the left of the icons in the status bar, and more wasted space to the right of the menu items.
Combine them into one bar at the top of the screen.
Mark.

Re: Combine status bar and menu to conserve display real est
This has been asked a lot and it has not changed. You can however turn off the status bar with the following command
To turn it back on you run the same command without the noStatusBar
Only thing is when you boot it up you will see a black region at the bottom sometimes. Press the host+a key combo to auto-adjust and it will fill in.
Code: Select all
VBoxManage setextradata global GUI/Customizations noStatusBar

also with this feature at 2020.
I known menu bar and status bar can be hidden.
also wish a option to combine them together, something like a toolbar group in other application:
- visual studio: draggable tool button group
- chrome: the menu right of extension tool button
