bridging through a driver

Post by nabamer »

Both vmware and virtualpc bind a bridging driver (on windows) to the existing adapters, which obviates the need to create a separate virtual interface and manually bridge it (which can't even be done on win2k)

That approach is simpler and more reliable from the end user perspective.

Are there plans to do the same in VirtualBox?

Yes, we prefer that solution as well, but it's a matter of time. We have limited resources and a huge list of features we wish to add.

It's on our todo list, but I can't give you any release schedule.

Please expedite this feature. It's a very serious obstacle on Windows hosts!
