Virtualbox on iOS

Post by SalemWarde »

I want Virtualbox come to iOS, so here's the features to iOS version:

Run virtual machine on any OS without An ISO file.
(Because ISO files are too large.)

Add CPUs, GPUs and RAM for your VM
(GPU Limit: 128 GPUs
CPU Limit: 1024 CPUs
RAM Limit: Unlimited)

Use VMs as a gaming/work VMs with AI keyboard/Controller controls recognition.

Virtual keyboard.

Add a monitor or create your own
(Maximum display resolution: 8K
Maximum refresh rate: 360hz)

Use any os types
(Computer/laptop OSes, console OSes, Mobile OSes and more)

Auto setup for any operating system

Touchscreen for Any OSes

Add any file without downloading

No Wi-Fi required!

Add any Device for VMs such as USBs, External cameras and more

Create your own devices for Your VMs such as cameras

Add your own virtual Wi-Fi for your VMs
( Wi-Fi speed limit: 8 tbps or 1TB/s)

Add external hardware to your VMs, such as TPM 2.0

That's it,
But The app should be downloaded by adding the app to homescreen as a bookmark, because Apple hates emulators on the App Store.

And admins, please announce this because it’s a good idea, please.

That's a really interesting concept!

Just as soon as Apple lets iOS run on a x86 CPU, we'll see what we can do!

Seriously, though it is an interesting idea, it is not going to fly, because Virtualbox runs on x86 CPU hardware, not ARMs & M1's and what the iPad uses for processors.

Virtualbox also only runs x86 operating systems, since the physical CPU is passed into the VM for the VM's OS to run on. Virtualbox does not emulate a CPU.

So I'm afraid Virtualbox just is not the correct choice for an iOS host.

Oh, and don’t forget, make it for Arm CPU and the M1 instead of an x86 CPU.

That will need some significant re-tooling, as Virtualbox is tuned to only speak x86. It'll be a ground-up restart.

Only Oracle's customers can afford that much cash to fund such an ambitious project. If there's enough M1-Mac-using Oracle customers, it'll happen. Until then, users can contribute code.

Or make the processors run on ARM64 and the M1 Chip virtually

Whatever CPU the host has is what the VM will see. Virtualbox does not emulate a CPU.
