I figured out if you press I figured out if you press HostKey + N,+ N, you get a performance monitor that shows the inbound/outbound traffic (Does this work in both NAT and bridged mode), but IIRC it resets each time you start/stop the machine (cannot remember if that's just for powering the machine on and off or suspend/resuming it). Is there a feature or can it be added to see the totals for a set time period (preferably separate Internet and local traffic) that persists across reboot/suspend?
Thanks,

In the VBox.log file, you'll find summary statistics for each virtual network interface right at the end. Further alternatives are using 8.33. VBoxManage metrics and 12.1.4. The Built-In VM Debugger.
