Machine Aborting Upon Startup

Post by HmadQureshi »

Hello,

I am trying to use Kali Linux via OVA file on VirtualBox. The installation of VirtualBox goes smoothly and ova was imported successfully.

As soon as i started the VM i was faced with an error for USB 2.0, which i fixed by installing the extension box. Still, as soon as i start the Kali VM and graphical interface is shown, the machine gets aborted. I have tried almost all the available solution but the issue persists. Logs are attached.

Please help.

My Host Details:

The last line in the log is:
00:00:17.251633 CoreAudio: macOS 10.14+ detected, checking audio input permissions
There are some posts indicating that Mac OS may not be asking for permissions to let Virtualbox use the audio, or some such. I don't remember the exact details.

Try disabling audio in the guest's settings.

FYI, disabling the audio in the machine's settings just worked for me. Trying to run Ubuntu 14.04 server, and it crashed whenever started up.

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks a lot!

It is indeed an issue with access to microphone.
The next thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=99833 actually explains how to enable access to a microphone for VirtualBox.
