macOS 11 (Big Sur) will not be available on a significant number of highly capable Apple machines.
In addition to the machines dropped in 10.15, the following models capable of running macOS 10.15 (Catalina) will not be able to be upgraded to macOS 11 (Big Sur):
2012 and Early 2013 MacBook Pro
2012 MacBook Air
2012 and 2013 iMac
2012 Mac mini
Given the absurdity of 10.15 (Catalina), a highly functional work flow would be macOS on VirtualBox on macOS 10.14 (Mojave) - on my mid 2012 MBP.
For what I do, I create a macOS VM, run tests of different types, and throw away the VM. VirtualBox is working great for me. Please keep up the great work!
