another success with Hostinterface Networking

while I have reported Hostinterface to work when using static IP addresses both on Mac host and in Linux client, I was surprised to see it working for a typical on-the-road setup too.
On the road I use a Huawei UMTS (3G) modem connected via USB to my MacBook. Of course I have to use DHCP in Mac OS X in this case.
I use the airport to span up a new "ad-hoc" WLAN, so the other notebooks can use that UMTS cell phone connection too.
Now in this setup VirtualBox 2.0.2 clients can use this too, via DHCP. I.e. in this case DHCP works on host side and on client side for Hostinterface Networking! Nice.
Configuration:
MacBook: online via USB-connected Huawei UMTS 3G modem
Network: set up to use Huawei PPP and DHCP as usual and my phone provider's data like APN and username and password
Airport: used as ad-hoc network wireless access point to share internet access (to other WiFi computers)
Sharing: internet sharing set up to share Huawei modem for Airport clients
VirtualBox: set up with Hostinterface networking for each guest machine
openSUSE guest system: conf. to use DHCP
Ubuntu guest system: conf. to use DHCP
And this works.
