since today, using Host Networking shuts down my Airport connectivity.
Host: MacBook OS X, newest updates, fixed IP, Airport
Guests:
- openSUSE 11, newest updates, fixed IP X.X.X.111, Host Networking
- Ubuntu 8.04, newest updates, fixed IP X.X.X.102, Host Networking
When surfing Firefox in Ubuntu, after some time/clicks suddenly the network freezes.
Not only in the VM (guest) but also in the host (Mac).
I have to disable and reenable Airport to get the network up.
What can Ubuntu do to my Airport?
Can somebody explain this mystic effect?
VB 2.0 Host networking kills Mac Airport connection
You may want to try the latest Version 2.0.2 Bug Fixer see if that helps and report back.
Network Voodoo. If you can posta link to your VirtualMachine log file or perhaps see what is happening to the network from the Console.app in Utilities to help debug what is occurring.
Hopefully 2.0.2 will fix these issues. Good luck!

first I tested again and tried to understand the messages in console.
Then I installed 2.0.2.
I wondered, those messages in console have changed significantly or vanished altogether.
The good news is, no problems with either client since I installed 2.0.2 and then the new Guest Additions of 2.0.2 in each guest system.
It is running since hours now, and stable. Nice.
Thank you!
