To get around the fact that shared folders are not available for Solaris guests, I'd like to set up my MacBook Pro as an NFS server and serve up directories to a Solaris guest VM. I was able to do this with VMWare but can't figure out from the VB documentation how to accomplish this.
Which networking should I use? I don't want to require an active Internet connection to do this so I can get access to my Mac desktop any time, whether I'm connected or not. Any ideas? Cookbooks, etc.?
Thanks,
John
Internal NFS for Solaris Guests?
Which version of VirtualBox are you using?
The latest version 2.0.2 reportedly fixes an issue with sharing NFS with Host Interface Networking.
Here is a step by step: http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Sharing_files_on_OSE
And this is the NFS Manager I like to use on Mac OS X: http://www.bresink.com/osx/143439/download.html
Hope it is working for you now!
