CentOS 5.2 64bit on MacBook Core2Duo 2.4GHz with OS X 10.5.4

Post by timalsina »

I am having no luck on installing CentOS 64bit on my MacBook that has OS X 10.5.4 with VirtualBox 2.0 running. After I point to ISO and fire CentOS virtual box, it is giving me this error: "Your CPU does not support long mode. Use a 32bit distribution." Well, I could load 32bit but I was under impression that version 2.0 supports 64bit guest if host is 64bit. Isn't MacBook 2.4 GHz Intel Core2Duo a true 64bit CPU and OS X 10.5.4 is also 64bit OS?

Lot's of posts on this. Have a browse. MacOS isn't currently treated as a 64bit OS. Sorry.
