I see a similar issue. Virtualbox 6.0.4 (later upgraded to 6.0.8 - no change) on a 15" MBP 2018 (Core i9, 32GB/1TB) running MacOS 10.14.5. I started Virtualbox for the first time since the last MacOS upgrade. VMs are basic Ubuntu (2GB, 1 core, dynamic VDI 10GB, one extra dynamic VDI, also 10GB). The VM will start up to the point where i can log in, but then it freezes (first i cant move the mouse pointer anymore, then the screen goes black and the Mac reboots. So far 100% reproducible, i can not use Virtualbox at all without crashing my machine.

I tried uninstalling Virtualbox completely and reinstalling 6.0.8. No change.

Your problem has nothing to do with the topic of this thread, which is about only the VirtualBox GUI app crashing, and not the host OS crashing.

I would start by uninstalling the Duet app. Then any application that is running in parallel with VirtualBox and affects key "hardware" components; network, sound, USB, Malwarebytes. See what conflicts. I don't recognize half of your installed apps, so you have to start experimenting...

Apologies about posting in the wrong thread. I'll test and report the results. As vbox not only crashes itself but MacOS, testing may take a while.

I uninstalled duet completely and turned off all applications other than Firefox and Thunderbird, which I need in parallel to Virtuaibox. Verified the only kexts that are not com.apple are com.virtualbox (4 kexts in total). It took a bit longer to crash MacOS but eventually did. This is still 6.0.8 on MacOS 10.14.5. Will try to upgrade to .10 but dont have high hopes that will fix it.

Upgrade to 6.0.10 did not help. Had another crash upon first start of 6.0.10 when booting the third virtual machine (all three Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS, 1CPU, 1.6GB, 1x 20GB and 2x 10GB VDI). I am running out of things to try. As this is my work laptop I can not simply reinstall to test.

Three VMs? Are you sure you have enough resources to run 3 VMs concurrently? Do you still have the VBox.logs from the 3 VMs when the crash happened? If so, please ZIP them all up and attach them to your reply. Especially the 3rd launched VM...

I do have enough resources. Macbook Pro 15 2018, 32GB, 6-core CPU. I am using 4 cores and 6GB memory. Before the fateful update of MacOS I ran up to 8 VMs on the same Mac without problems.

Also, here is the update: If I start the VMs from the commandline (VBoxManage startvm "CephNode1" --type headless) it appears to work fine. No crashes despite heavy testing yesterday. Will test with GUI again and upload logs.
