[Resolved] VM stalls when trying to start after restoring original state snapshot

Dear Socratis,

I saw that you responded and helped fix the problem with the duplication of icons on the dock (MAC). I am also having trouble with that after installing the VM, I am not able to restore the original state snapshot. When I do, upon starting the VM, it stalls (rainbow icon), so I have to forcequit, and when I do, there are two VMs to quit, so it seems to be the same problem. However, I do not understand what to do to resolve this problem. I would appreciate your assistance. thank you.

This is the error message i get when I forcequit:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Kali-Linux-2019.2-vbox-amd64.

The only thing that I saw in there was excessive RAM allocation for the guest:

00:00:01.118092 Host RAM: 16384MB (16.0GB) total, 7441MB (7.2GB) available
00:00:01.196599 RamSize <integer> = 0x0000000189100000 (6 594 494 464, 6 289 MB, 6.1 GB)

You still have more than 1 GB left (even if you take out the VRAM), but somehow it feels low.

• Shutdown the VM, lower the RAM to 2048 MB and try again.
• If you can't restore the VM, try with the latest test builds.
• If you still can't restore the VM, head to the bug tracker and either search for an appropriate bug, or open a new bug report where you'll attach your logs and other vital information.

I reduced the memory and deleted the snapshot that was causing problems. It should be fine from now on.
