Sound Drivers in Ubuntu on Macbook

Post by Tigercat212 »

I have Ubuntu installed and running in a VM in Virtualbox on my Macbook. The only thing I need to get working is the sound. I installed the Guest Additions for Linux but I'm confused as to what to do. I'm trying to understand what this page says: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBook But, I don't understand what they're saying. Are they talking about the Terminal? What do I do? Can someone give me the Terminal command (if there is one) or step by step directions on how to get the sound on my Macbook. Please!

Are you shure you have to go through all this hassle?
Just for the record, the audio config of your VM should be:
  • Audio enabled
    Host Driver CoreAudio
    Controller ICH AC97
If necessary shutdown the guest, configure audio and restart.

Good Luck, aquarius
