[Solved] External Hard Drive

Post by cornichon »

Does anybody know, how I can access my external USB hard drive?

I activated USB, but the device is not in the List... There are only the iSight cam, Bluetooth, ... but not my hard drive.

I hope anybody can help me.
I use Leopard as Host and Win XP as client on a MacBook Pro

I would suggest using a shared folder to access your USB Hard Drive.

You can select the entire ROOT directory of your USB Hard Drive allowing you to use the USB Hard Drive as a Network share drive.

Back in Windows, Open windows Explorer, Add a NETWORK DRIVE and select your usb hard drive share from:

My Network Places\Entire Network\VirtualBox Shared Folders\\VBOXSVR\nameofyourusbharddrive

This will give you read/write access to the USB Hard drive from both your HOST and GUEST OS without worrying about mussing up access control.
