Extremely slow internet speed.

HOST: MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) Mac OS Sierra and total 8GB RAM.
Using VirtualBox 5.2.18 r124319 (Qt5.6.3), with VM machine: Ubuntu 18.04.1.

My download and upload speed on host is 15Mbps download, and 25 Mbps upload.
On the VM is 4Mbps download and 0.4 Mbps upload.

So, there is almost a 100x degradation in upload speed.
Have tried the following network adapters with same results: NAT, NAT network, Bridged Adapter (others don't work).


Any ideas?

On the same exact downloaded file? From the same site? Multiple times? Unless you've set a bandwidth limit in the VM, VirtualBox doesn't shape any traffic AFAIK...

The speed results are using the same TEST --- Google's speed test (link that comes up on searching for "speed test").
