My virtual machine with El Capitan Crashes on High Sierra
Hi to all, i'm trying to run OS X El Capitan on a virtual Machine on High Sierra, but when i pressed start button the virtual machine crashed.
I used the following tutorial to configure the machine (the first part) how-to-install-mac-os-x-el-capitan-on-pc-on-virtualbox and the same hard disk.
The log for error is following file:
Please help me with my problem.
Thanks in advanced.

Re: Crashes my virtual machine on Sierra
You are assigning memory to your guest, that you do not have available. Either close some applications on the host, buy more RAM for the host, or reduce the amount of RAM assigned to the guest.00:00:01.006042 Host RAM: 8192MB (8.0GB) total, 2627MB (2.5GB) available 00:00:01.118839 RamSize <integer> = 0x0000000100000000 (4 294 967 296, 4 096 MB, 4.0 GB)
You could get some more benefits if you installed the Extension Pack.00:00:01.009053 Installed Extension Packs: 00:00:01.009085 None installed!
Your graphics memory is a little on the low side. I'd take it to 32, 64 or even 128 MB.00:00:01.119113 VRamSize <integer> = 0x0000000001000000 (16 777 216, 16 MB)
And finally we get to this. Where did you get this from? This doesn't look like you're trying to install 10.11, it looks like you downloaded a Hackintosh version, is that right?00:00:01.047179 File system of '/Users/micc/Documents/OS X 10.11 El Capitan Retail.vmdk' is unknown

Where and how did you get it? Details please...MICCX wrote:Now I'm using an El Capitan ISO
Any particular reason why you disabled ICH9 from the VM recipe? Don't just experiment with no reason, there's a logic behind the template suggestions. Stick with them, until you figure out what they do.00:00:01.013803 ICH9 <integer> = 0x0000000000000000 (0)

Re: My virtual machine with El Capitan Crashes on High Sierra
Thanks ChipMcK for the vote of confidence
The script that MICCX posted also seems to work.
@MICCX
Can you right-click on the VM, "Show in Finder", ZIP that .vbox file and attach it as well?

Re: My virtual machine with El Capitan Crashes on High Sierra
@MICCX
- Increase the number of CPUs to 2.
- Increase the RAM to 3072 MB. You're running thin on your host RAM, so try to close all other apps first.
- Change the USB controller to USB 3.

Re: My virtual machine with El Capitan Crashes on High Sierra
Since you only did 50% of what I asked you to do (no USB3, no mention of the OSX version/build), here's what I want you to do next. Open up Terminal and enter the following commands, exactly as they are here:
VBoxManage modifyvm "OsX" --vram 128 VBoxManage modifyvm "OsX" --usb off --usbehci off --usbxhci on VBoxManage modifyvm "OsX" --cpu-profile "Intel Core i7-6700K"

Re: My virtual machine with El Capitan Crashes on High Sierra
I honestly don't know why you're not able to make this work. There is one very minute detail, and that is the number of your SATA ports. VM Settings » Storage, select the SATA controller, on the right change the "Ports" to 2. But I don't think it's going to make a difference. And no, I don't want a fresh set of logs if it doesn't work...
Other than that, I need you to tell me where you got the installer application from. That's my only, my last piece of something that I don't know. Other than that, I'm drawing a blank...
Oh, and setting these parameters is not for an OSX on OSX installation, it's for a Hackintosh. Do not use them.
